Power Tank 10 lb CO2 Air System, Dual Bottle
Two 10 lb CO2 bottles with one regulator, hose and tire inflator. The second bottle is a spare, so a trip gets twice the air before a refill. Power Tank say four tires in under five minutes, set up and put away included.
/WHY IT IS HERE
The shop carries ARB's on-board compressors for a rig that stays built. This is the other answer: the air rides in a bottle, there is nothing to wire, and it moves to the next vehicle with you. Two rigs, a borrowed truck, or one you would rather not wire.
/KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
- Find your refiller before you buy. Welding gas, fire extinguisher and beverage CO2 shops fill them. Power Tank's refiller map lists shops that fill on site; call ahead. Power Tank put a fill at $15 to $30. To see what is left, weigh it: full is 10 lb over empty. Power Tank do not say whether it arrives filled.
- Recertify every five years. US gas cylinders must be hydro tested five years from manufacture, then every five years; your refiller does it or knows who does. Both bottles need it. If a bottle fails, ship it to Power Tank at your cost with the test report and they send a new one. Outside damage after delivery is not covered.
- Dual means a spare bottle. One regulator, one hose, one bracket. The second 10 lb bottle rides in its own boot, and the Power Wrench moves the regulator across when the first runs dry. Plan where the spare goes.
-
Pick the gauge at checkout. It sits on the tire inflator. Analog needs no batteries; digital is backlit, runs on AAA batteries and reads finer. Power Tank's figures:
- Trooper: 0 to 60 psi analog, within 1.2 psi. Tires run up to 55 psi.
- Rubicon: 1.5 to 60 psi digital, within 0.6 psi. Same tires, easier to read at night.
- Long-Haul: 0 to 150 psi analog, within 3 psi. Truck and trailer tires above 60 psi.
- Work Horse: 5 to 150 psi digital, within 1.5 psi. One gauge for a 4x4 and a trailer.
- Racer Series: 0 to 100 psi precision digital, within 0.25 psi. Single-digit trail pressures.
- Coiled or straight hose, both 30 ft. Coiled packs smaller and pulls back in. Straight lies flat with no spring pulling at the far tire.
- Upright while it runs, or tilted no lower than 30 degrees, so liquid CO2 stays out of the regulator. It can ride on its side.
- Air Lockers need a pressure release valve set to 100 psi or less ahead of the solenoid, Power Tank say. It is not in the box.
- Returns: within 30 days, return shipping on you. Power Tank charge a 5% restocking fee on returns in new condition. Anything they judge not new carries 15% up to 40% of list. The fee comes off the refund. Refund policy.
/WHICH ONE
Three Power Tank packages. Power Tank's count is 35 in tires aired from 15 to 30 psi: 18 per fill on the 10 lb single ($849.95), 36 on the 10 lb dual ($1,149.95), and 54 on the 15 lb dual ($1,179.95), which they point at 36 to 42 in tires.
The ARB Twin ($659.95) and ARB Brushless Twin (from $949.95) wire into one vehicle and run off its electrics, so there is nothing to refill, and they drive ARB Air Lockers. A Power Tank needs no install, moves between rigs and runs air tools without an extra tank, but every bottle goes back to a refiller. Take an ARB if the air stays with one truck. Take a Power Tank if it has to move.
