ARB's brushless twin, with 50 percent more output than the brushed compressor it sits above. Active cooling in each motor, electronic speed control, and no relays to mount because the brushless motors do not need them.

/WHY IT IS HERE

The gain is time. Fifty percent more air is fifteen minutes back at the end of a day, every day, and it compounds on a trip rather than on a single fill.

The install is also simpler than the compressor below it. Quick-release cam-lock mounts mean the unit comes off without tools, and losing the relays removes a mounting problem rather than adding a feature.

/KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
  • The manifold kit is a separate choice at checkout and adds $99.95. Decide before you order. The photographs on this page show the unit with the manifold fitted.
  • This is an install. Permanent mount, wired into the vehicle, and at 13.2 lb it wants a solid mounting point.
  • Smart Start staggers the two motors so the startup spike stays within a smaller charging system. Worth knowing if your alternator is stock.
  • It is compatible with ARB's existing air accessories, hose kits and Air Lockers, so an upgrade keeps the plumbing.
  • ARB publish no flow rate here either. The 50 percent is relative to their own brushed twin, not an absolute figure.
/WHICH ONE

The faster of two. The standard Twin costs less and carries a stated 100 percent duty cycle. Take the brushless if filling speed is the point or you are running tools. Take the standard twin if the job is tires and lockers and the money is better spent elsewhere.
