Reign 180 FR+ Awning

A 180-degree awning that runs the length of one side of the vehicle. Freestanding, open in under a minute by one person, with two detachable legs for when it blows. Same 600D flame-resistant ripstop as the 270, and four arms rather than three, each carrying a dimmable white and red LED bar.

/WHY IT IS HERE

It is the 270 without the wrap and without ten pounds. Most of the time shade down one side is the whole requirement, and this does that for $250 less.

The flame-resistant fabric is the part worth paying for either way. You stop thinking about where the stove is.

/KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY

• 45 lb. Lighter than the 270 and still a two-person lift onto a roof.
• It needs t-track. Load bars, a platform or a rack with t-track. Both brackets are included; a bare factory crossbar is not enough.
• Packed it is 88 in long. Measure the rack first.
• The legs detach and live in a bag, rather than storing inside the arms the way the 270's do. One more thing to remember.
• Reign publish no coverage area for this one. They publish 83 sq ft for the 270 and nothing here, so there is no honest way to say how much ground it covers.
• Annex Walls and the Windbreaker are sold separately. The full-perimeter velcro is there for them; neither is in the box.
• The LED bars run off USB from the vehicle. No battery in the awning.
• The Cliffhanger organiser is included.

/WHICH ONE

The smaller of two. Take this if you want shade down one flank. The 270 costs $250 more, weighs 54 lb and wraps around the back of the vehicle, which is what you want if you cook and sit behind it rather than beside it.
