MAXTRAX XTREME Recovery Boards, Olive Drab
A pair of MAXTRAX XTREME recovery boards in Olive Drab. Same nylon as the MKII with 88 hard-anodized alloy teeth set into it, which MAXTRAX say grip faster and wear slower under a spinning tire.
/WHY IT IS HERE
Recovery boards get a stuck truck out with no winch, no anchor point and no second vehicle: the board goes under the tire and the truck drives out on it. I carry MAXTRAX on the 80 because you never know when you will need them. Usually it is not for the 80. It is for pulling someone else out.
/KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
- A pair, not one. Two boards per box.
- XTREME takes its own mounting pins, sold separately by MAXTRAX, including a hybrid pin for stacking XTREME on top of MKII.
- A damaged tooth comes out from the underside with a T-50 Torx bit. MAXTRAX sell replacement teeth.
/WHICH ONE
MKII ($279.99 a pair) grips with molded nylon cleats and weighs 15 lb a pair. XTREME ($439.99 a pair) sets 88 alloy teeth into the same nylon, which MAXTRAX say outlast nylon cleats under a spinning tire and can be replaced one at a time. It weighs 20 lb a pair. MAXTRAX built XTREME for jobs where heavy wheelspin is hard to avoid: racing, military and long expeditions.
