MAXTRAX MKII Recovery Boards, Black
A pair of MAXTRAX MKII recovery boards in Black, with two Telltale leashes. MAXTRAX call Black their most discreet color: it disappears against a roof rack or bed rack.
/WHY IT IS HERE
Recovery boards get a stuck truck out with no winch, no anchor point and no second vehicle: the board goes under the tire and the truck drives out on it. I carry MAXTRAX on the 80 because you never know when you will need them. Usually it is not for the 80. It is for pulling someone else out.
/KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
- A pair, not one. Two boards and two orange Telltale leashes, which tie on so you can find a board after it sinks into sand or mud.
- Mounting pins are not included. MAXTRAX sell them separately.
- Black boards are the hardest to find in mud. MAXTRAX strongly recommend tying the leashes on.
/WHICH ONE
MKII ($279.99 a pair) grips with molded nylon cleats and weighs 15 lb a pair. XTREME ($439.99 a pair) sets 88 alloy teeth into the same nylon, which MAXTRAX say outlast nylon cleats under a spinning tire and can be replaced one at a time. It weighs 20 lb a pair. MAXTRAX built XTREME for jobs where heavy wheelspin is hard to avoid: racing, military and long expeditions.
