Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T, 285/70R17

A 33 inch all-terrain for a 4Runner or Tacoma that lives on pavement and gravel and sees dirt at weekends. This is the non-LT version of the Baja Boss A/T, which makes it a different tire from the rest of this range rather than a smaller one.

/WHY IT IS HERE

Most people who think they need an LT tire do not. Standard load construction is lighter, rides better and carries a longer treadwear warranty. If you are not airing down and crawling rock, this is the one that makes sense.

/KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY

• Priced per tire, not per set.
• Standard load, not LT. Max load is 2,756 lb at 44 psi against 3,000 lb and up across the LT sizes. If you run a camper, a heavy rear bumper or tow, size up to an LT.
• Severe snow rated at 3PMS, which is a certification rather than an M+S badge.
• Mickey Thompson say the treadwear warranty is longer than the LT sizes carry. They do not say by how much.
• Tread depth is 16/32, shallower than every other size here.

/WHICH ONE

The smallest and the mildest. Step up to the LT255/85R17 for a 35 inch height in LT construction without the width, or to the 35X12.50R17LT if the build has the lift and the gears for a wide 35.
